What is a STEN Party you ask?

Sten Party is Combining a Bachelor & Bachelorette Party
its short for STAG + HEN = STEN Party!

This type of party has been gaining in popularity over the last couple of years.  Couples are spending years together before getting married, and their lifestyle is stable and their single status is a thing of the past.  So the desire to have a typical bachelor/bachelorette party is also a thing of the past.

If the couple have been together for a long period of time, chances are they have a great group of mutual friends, however there still may be a few friends that you have asked to be in the wedding party that is not familiar with everyone.  So this is a great way for your wedding party (bridesmaids & groomsmen) and your friends (his & yours) and younger wedding guests to interact before the big day.  Make it fun and just enjoy the evening out all together instead of you each group going your separate ways for the night.

Its always a great idea to pick a hen for the girls side and a stag for the guys side for the planning.  They would be working together to plan the party that would be a good fit for both sides.  It also helps with combining the funds and sharing the cost among more people.

There is also an option to split up the stags and hens and do different activities during the day and meet back up later in the evening for dinner & drinks as a group.

Here is 15 Sten Party Ideas...

1)   Spa Day
2)   Horse Races
3)   Paint Ball Party
4)   Marathon as a group
5)   Scavenger Hunt  (there is an App to make your own)
6)   Wine Making (it does take 6 months to cure)
7)   River Boat Party
8)   Dance Class
9)   Inflatable Games
10) Go Karts
11) Casino (FireKeepers, Soaring Eagle, MGM)
12) Beer Tour
13) Bubble Bumping
14) Fowling
15) Golfing Party

Remember this is to have fun and celebrate the Bride and Groom.

Well I started the year off with Attending 2 Bridal shows in Jackson, Michigan. We attended the Gene Davis Bridal Show 2013 and the K105.3 Show 2013.  Loved being apart of both shows.  It's always a great way to showcase what you can offer Brides and the rest of the year seems to just take off after that.

This year seem to go better than last year, I had some amazing girls there with me and lots of brides liked my facebook page.  I got each Bride to scan a QR code that would take them to Save the Date Events & Decor's Facebook Page and then they got a coupon.  Thanks to all the Brides who like my page!
Go check out my Page!   www.facebook.com/savethedateeventsanddecor

Here is a picture from the Gene Davis Bridal Show.   Can't really see it but I used the Purples and Greens and Reds and Blacks for this Show.  Had Shirts printed too.

Here is a few pictures from the K-105.3 Bridal Show. For this Show I used the Vintage Theme and the Navy Blues.  Both shows were really a Success.

Looking forward to a great and prosperous year after the Bridal Shows.
Thanks for stoping by!

Starting an ABC Chapter for Lansing and Jackson

I love my job, being a Wedding Planner/Wedding Decorator is the best job I have every had!
I get to work with amazing people and wonderful brides.
I always want more, I'm not sure if that from being a woman or just a part of me pushing to do better?

I joined the Association of Bridal Consultants less that 6 months ago.  I have attended meetings in Detroit and Ann Arbor.  It was so inspiring to see everyone in the industry coming together and talking about all the great things that each of them have to offer.  I said to myself... I want a group like this in the Jackson and Lansing area.  So as of January 1st 2013, I went to every networking meeting and outlet so I could to get the word out.  Nothing is ever easy, it was a lot of hard work and long hours.
I got a list of names, address, and e-mails and started planning my first meeting.
It was going to be held on February 12th 2013.

I had Kate McClellan the Director of the Detroit Chapter of the Association of Bridal Consultants be the guest speaker for the event, she is also the State Coordinator for Michigan.

We had an ok turn out, however it was just the first meeting.  It can only get better.

The meeting was held at the Commonwealth Commerce Center and the catering was provided by Davan Catering.  The Balloony Bin provided the balloons that welcomed you at the front door.
Save the Date Events & Decor provided the liens and the table decor.

The meetings work like this.

1st there is meeting and mingling, so bring lots of business cards.
2nd there is an educational piece to every meeting.
3rd then there is everyone that contributed to the meeting, they get to showcase their business to the entire group with a 5-10 min presentation.
4th grab a bit to eat and drink and enjoy!

If you would like to become part of this group, please e-mail me at savedateevents@yahoo.com
I'm also looking for help and volunteers for the next meeting, which is going to be in May in Lansing.
